Nigeria Navy Arrest Three Suspects Conveying 559kg of Cannabis

Nigerian Navy arrested three male suspects with a boat conveying 559 kilos of cannabis to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA

According to report, The commander, Nigerian Navy Ship Beecroft, Com. Maurice Enohanded, handed over the suspects and exhibits in Lagos.

Commodore Enohanded said, the three suspects were apprehended with the cannabis during a routine Naval patrol.

"The boat was conveying three men and eleven packages of suspected to be cannabis.  The three suspects, along with the exibits, are now being handed over to the NDLEA for further investigation and prosecution," he said.

Mr Isiaka Lawal, who recieved the three suspects and the exhibits, on behalf of the NDLEA, commended the effoet of the navy at reducing criminality, drug trafficking to the barest minimum in the nation's waters.

NDLEA Isiaka, confirmed the exhibit as cannabis weighing 559 kg, said the suspects would be charged to court after investigation.
