President Muhammadu Buhari |

It is a shame that some Nigerian leaders forget that this is the Information Age a.k.a. the Internet Age.
For heavens sake, what medical ailment might the President have had that cannot be disclosed? Sahara Reporters just disclosed that the President is battling advanced prostate cancer. If this is true, the media team of the President should hang their head in shame for creating a needless bogey around the illness of our President.
Prostate wahala runs in my paternal lineage. My father had it. Yet, he lived beyond the age of 93. My paternal uncle had it. My paternal uncle had it. I have it. I have no wish whatsoever to see my 90th birthday. I very freely disclosed my prostate problems when I had my prostate surgery during the tenure of the 7th National Assembly. It was (and is) no big deal. My disclosure was intended to encourage male colleagues to get early and regular prostate examination. Even now, when I need to use the restroom, I often jokingly tell my colleagues that I must answer the summon of my prostate.
Prostate problem is largely a black man's cross just like uterine fibroids are largely a black woman's burden. The Apostle Paul was emphatic that our physical body will not see God's kingdom. Its eventual dissolution was a foregone conclusion long before the elucidation of the DNA basis for cellular apoptosis and organismal death.
The hoopla surrounding the President's health is orchestrated hysteria worsened by the superstitions and incompetency of his information management team. What is the worst that can happen? The President dies or falls into coma! Those who have an ax to grind with the President keep bellowing as if we are on the verge of the apocalypse! Not so at all. Our President requires medical attention. We must remove all remaining shroud on his health and seek intercession for his healing.
Please God, heal our President.
And please grant supernal wisdom to the medical team caring for him.
