Martin McGuiness, former Deputy First Minister of Northern Ireland, has died, age 66.

The former Deputy First Minister of Northern Ireland and leading member of Sinn Féin has died "after a short illness". 

McGuinness was instrumental in the Northern Irish peace process and was a key figure during the Troubles. 

He was Northern Ireland's Deputy First Minister for ten years.
